A new major version of EIH has been released! New to this version:

• The map generation algorithm has been rewritten, allowing for even more diverse and varied maps.
  • Rooms treat stairs as a "fifth exit; they are treated the same as the four cardinal directions instead of as a special room circumstance.
    • Rooms can now sometimes spawn with no cardinal exits and only stairs connecting them to another room.
    • Rooms with stairs can now have additional special circumstances applied to them, including chests, etc.
  • Rooms can now sometimes spawn using the layout of a room meant for a different number of exits.
    • This prevents repeat players from easily learning the layouts of existing exits based on the number of rooms that spawn.
    • This dramatically increases the variety in map generation from seed to seed.
  • Vastly decreased load times for more complicated maps/seeds.
• Implemented new pathfinding system for game objects to use.
  • Certain enemies will now "smartly" find an existing path toward their targets instead of just "dumbly" trying to move in the direction the target is in.
  • Other uses for pathfinding used to track player movement.
• Graphical changes to lava and the lighting system:
  • Lava now "glows" and flickers instead of being a static light source.
  • Blocks pushed into lava now form a path instead of "deleting" themselves and the lava.
  • Various options for lava animation added.
  • Black boxes no longer drawn under bushes or under objects holding certain items.
• New game content and rebalanced difficulty progression.
  • Locked and hidden chests now spawn.
  • Secret Passages sometimes spawn.
  • Some additional new enemies and traps added to the game.
• Various minor bugs fixed and difficulty adjustments made.
